Must is an Ottawa-MUST!
I have heard many great things about Must Kitchen&Wine Bar in the Ottawa Market but it wasn’t until recently that I went to indulge in their menu myself. Being no stranger to the Tappas scene, (Ottawa’s SideDoor & Play are both one of my top 10 hot spots) I figured Must would offer a menu similar to these restaurants. Au contraire….the Must menu focuses on Tappas but also offers a selection of large plates, big enough to fill up one to two diners. With upscale ingredients such as Duck Confit (in POUTINE), bison tartare and truffle tortellini, I knew I was in for a treat. I had gone with a group of friends which lowered my stress level in choosing the right dish as I was able to sample everyone’s choice. I personally feasted on the bison tartare (lean and flavourful), the warm spinach salad (with phyllo pastry crumble) and the truffle tortellini. Okay, I may have over-ordered but with the help of my friends, almost every plate on the table was clean. Other crowd pleasers at the table were the Linguini Del Mar, the Black Tiger Shrimp and the prosciutto figs. Everything from the music, decor, lighting and Manhattan-esque feel of the restaurant makes this place a winner.
