Sunday Brunch perfection @ The Urban Pear

Brunch spots are a dime a dozen in the Capital….GREAT brunch spots however, are scarce and should not remain a secret once uncovered. Thankfully, news of The Urban Pear’s knockout brunch has spread like wildfire and after my first dining experience there, I can definitely attest to its reputation. A unique spin on typical brunch items distinguishes TUP’s menu from other weekend hot spots. Sausage-stuffed french toast with honey ginger poached pear, crab cake eggs benny (I know, right?), poached eggs with duck confit, succulent lobster roll and their newest menu item ‘bangers and hash’ are made with fresh and local ingredients (a fact I learned from the restaurant owner himself) and pack serious flavour and richness without being bathed in a deep fryer before it hits your plate. A quick glance over their dinner menu (which features a selection of exceptional game, seafood, poultry and vegetarian dishes) secured my return to this Glebe treasure as soon as possible.
